The shuttle exclusion is the important one. Does The Pass Cover Jasper, Yoho And Kootenay?
A daily Banff admission does not travel to other parks. The annual Discovery Pass does, covering participating national parks and historic sites across the country, which is what makes it the obvious buy for anyone driving the Icefields Parkway to Jasper.
If your itinerary includes the Parkway, you are passing through Banff and into Jasper National Park, and both require admission. What Happens If You Do Not Have One?
You can be issued a fine. Compliance checks happen at trailheads and day-use car parks, not only at the entry gate, and "the gate did not stop me" is not a defence. The pass is inexpensive relative to the penalty and relative to everything else a Banff trip costs.
